Container gantry crane, which is commonly used in port and wharf, is divided into: rail mounted gantry crane and rubber tyred container gantry crane. Double cantilever rail mounted container gantry crane
Due to the container need to go through the interior space between both sides of the legs, leg in the width direction clearance is larger. According to leg bearing beam in different forms, double cantilever rail mounted gantry crane generally use the door at the top of the leg open into a "U" shape and the leg upper connected into n-shaped. Because the container does not have to pass the inner space of the door leg, the structure of the non cantilever rail mounted gantry crane is relatively simple.
Compared with shore container crane, the running speed of trolley of the rail mounted gantry crane is low, generally no stabilization system. If the user requests to reduce the operation intensity and raise the productivity, the crane can be provided with a stabilization system. To the rope type lifting mechanism, the stabilization system is realized through applying damping to ropes; to the rigid lifting mechanism, the stabilization system is achieved through the rigid component.

- Lifting speed is low and the bridge running speed is higher. According to the demand of container yard, hoisting height of rail mounted gantry crane is determined according to “heap three over four” or “heap four over five”, the lifting height is not high, so the rise speed is correspondingly low. But length in the direction of running along the track in container yard is generally longer, in order to achieve a certain productivity, the bridge running speed is higher.
- The trolley running speed of TICO rail mounted gantry crane can be determined according to the bridge span and extended distance of two sides. When the span and the cantilever length is smaller, the running speed and the productivity of the trolley can be smaller. When the span is larger and the length of the cantilever is larger, the running speed of the trolley can be improved to meet the requirement of productivity.
- When the span is more than 40m, during the high speed operation process of gantry girder, due to the difference of the running resistance of the two side door legs, the synchronization device of rail mounted gantry crane can be offset. Keeping the running speed of the two side running mechanism through the electric control system.
- In order to meet the high demand, the electric drive control system adopts thyristor DC or AC speed regulation drive control system, in order to achieve a better speed control and control performance. The electric control system can also be used in the conventional AC eddy current speed control or AC stator voltage regulation and speed control system. For the electric control system of the vehicle running mechanism with high speed, the thyristor DC, AC speed regulation control system or AC stator voltage regulating speed control system are usually used with electric brake, avoid using conventional electric drive system in the operation of parking brake by the way, so as not to bring a huge impact on the whole machine.
